External Morphology Characteristics
Charaxes jasius is one of the biggest butterflies in Croatia. The upper side of the forewing is brown in color with an orange band in submarginal and marginal zones. There are series of blue spots in postdiscal zone with 2 tails on the each hindwing. On the underside, the white band, reddish-brown pattern and orange margin are distinctive.
Behavior
It feeds on juices on moist ground, rotten fruit or excrement. When it lands, it keeps its wings closed. It flies very fast.

Habitat
Warm and dry areas with bushes along the coast. Elevations: 0-600m.
