External Morphology Characteristics

The color intensity of both wings is variable. The basal zone of the upper side of the wings is dark brown. The margin zone of the upper side of the hindwing is dark and more wide than on forewing. On the hindwing in the submarginal zone there is a series of orange markings each with black spot in the middle. The margin of the hindwing’s underside is white.

Behavior

Imago feeds with nectar of various flowers.

Families Caprifoliaceae, Gentianaceae or Asteraceae.

Habitat

From wet to dry meadows with flowers. Elevations: 0-1300m.
