External Morphology Characteristics

The wings are brown in color. On the upper side of the wings there are orange spots. There is a series of orange lunules in submarginal zone. On the underside of the hindwing there are two series of distinct bright orange spots.

Behavior

It often rests on blades of grass or leaves.

Caterpillar Host Plants

Family Primulaceae.

Habitat

Woodland clearances and meadows with bushes. Elevations: 0-1500m.
