External Morphology Characteristics

Looking from the front (anterior view), the underside of antenna tip is orange or bright brown. On the undersides of the forewing there is a dark area. It is visible from basal to discal zone. On the upper side of the forewing there is a dark edge. The darkening gradually extends a bit along the veins. In males, beginning from V1 to V3 on the upper side of the forewing, there is andocronia line. In the lateral view, in male, the tip of abdomen is longer than the edge of the wing in S2 zone. Moreover, in females, the tip of abdomen is noticeable shorter.

Behavior

Often rests on the blades of grass. Imago feeds with the nectar of various flowers.

Grasses family (Poaceae).

Habitat

Warm meadows with grass, flowers and bushes. Elevations: 0-1200m.
