External Morphology Characteristics

The upper side of the wings is orange in color with dark spots. In postdiscal and submarginal zones, there are two series of rounded dark spots. In males, in the basal zone of the upper side of the forewing, veins v1, v2 and v3 are more widely darkened. The underside of the hindwing is a bit greenish with clearly defined white pattern.

Behavior

Imago often feeds on nectar of various flowers. It flies fast.

Family Violaceae.

Habitat

Woodlands and edges of woodlands. Elevations: 0-1600m.
