External Morphology Characteristics
The wings of this butterfly are yellow, and in males, the upper side of the forewing is orange. The female of this species is similar in appearance to Gonepteryx rhamni. However, females of Gonepteryx cleopatra have a slightly more rounded wing shape, while females of Gonepteryx rhamni have a more pointed wing shape.
Behavior
When lands, it keeps wings closed.

Habitat
Common along the edges of forests, meadows and rocky terrains. It also enters urban areas such as parks and gardens. Elevations: 0-1500m.
